Superintendent
NASB is accepting applications for Superintendent of Schools on behalf of Falls City Public Schools. Falls City Public Schools is a Class III district and is accredited by the NDE.
The school district covers approximately 200 square miles and encompasses the communities of Falls City, Rulo, Salem, Preston, Barada, and Verdon. There are five buildings within the district, all 5 are located in Falls City. The schools are Falls City High School, which houses grades 9-12; Falls City Middle School, which houses grades 6-8; South Elementary School, which houses grades 3-5; North Elementary School, which houses grades PreK-2; and the Sixpence/Alternative School. Falls City Public Schools operates a Birth-3 Early Childhood Program (Sixpence) and North Elementary School also has an early childhood program (ages 3-4). A unique educational opportunity for students in the Falls City area is the newly opened Career Academy. This partnership is between Southeast Community College (SENCAP) and several schools in the area. There are five programs in the career pathways of Agriculture, Construction, Education, Healthcare and Welding.
Falls City is located in the extreme southeast corner of Nebraska. Falls City is in a prime location, strategically placed at the center of America’s heartland. There are multiple major metropolitan areas less than two hours away: Kansas City, Missouri; Topeka, KS; Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska. Falls City has a population of 4671. It's recognized for its annual festivals, history, and natural beauty.
The school is looking for a Superintendent who will:
- Sustain the financial stability of the district through effective planning and the ability to create and operate a school budget
- Develop relationships with staff, administration, and community members to ensure a positive learning environment
- Support staff and students in working toward improved student achievement at all levels
- Continue to develop the partnerships between the school and higher education to provide opportunities for all students
- Maintain a master facilities plan to ensure efficient use of facilities and ensure upkeep
