Emily Mostovoy-Luna is an educational leader who is deeply committed to equity and inclusive practices. She is a facilitator for Novak Educational Consulting. Participants in this professional development will leave being able to:
Understand the relationship among inclusive practice, universal design for learning (UDL), differentiated instruction, and specially designed instruction.
Appreciate the evolving roles of general education teachers and special education teachers and feel confident in working together to design Tier 1 classrooms that are inclusive of all learners.
Co-design lessons incorporating UDL and SDI to provide an inclusive environment for students with disabilities.

8:30 Quality AT Services: Unmasking the Blueprint You Need to Build Capacity with Dr. Brian Wojcik and Sarah Billingsley
AT systems and quality AT services have been shown to increase graduation rates and post-school outcomes of students with disabilities. However, these outcomes can only be achieved if the capacity for high-quality AT services exists. Come on this journey to examine a blueprint for creating capacity for high-quality AT services for students with disabilities. Participants will dig into national guidance regarding AT services, engage in learning key steps in building capacity for AT services, and break ground on practical strategies for measuring a system’s progress on their journey to provide high-quality AT services.
10:30 Peer Para Internship Program with Stacy Moore, Special Education Coordinator Scottsbluff High School, and Peer Para Interns
You will learn about the Peer Para Internship Program which provides high school seniors, interested in pursuing a career in education, the opportunity to support peers with significant disabilities in general education classrooms. You will hear first-hand from the Peer Paras, how this program has impacted their lives. Scottsbluff High School Special Education Coordinator, Stacy Moore and this year’s Peer Para interns will provide an overview of the program logistics as well as learn about the unique opportunity for general education students to connect and develop friendships with students with more significant disabilities, while they support them in the general education classroom.
