Middle School Assistant Principal

South Sioux City Community School District has the following anticipated opening for the 2023/2024 school year: Middle School Assistant Principal

The successful candidate will have experience in building a collaborative culture, establishing/maintaining high expectations for students and staff by serving as an instructional leader, the ability to establish and foster strong relationships, and the capacity to grow professional learning communities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing leadership assistance in planning, developing, coordinating and evaluating the operations of the school; working with building administration in establishing annual objectives for instructional and extra-curricular programs, supervising District athletics/activities by attending events, monitoring student behavior, providing officials with essential information, collaborating with stakeholders in the execution of objectives and initiatives.

This position requires working cooperatively as part of a team, communicating openly and effectively with students, community, staff, and administration, and assisting with the development of an atmosphere of respect, interest, and enthusiasm within the school. Established leadership experience in managing student behaviors and attendance issues, utilizing data to drive continuous improvement initiatives, is also preferred.

This position offers a 225 day contract period. This administrative position requires District residency.

The selected candidate must hold or be eligible to obtain a Nebraska Administrative Certification with secondary grade level endorsement. EEO/VP
