Abstract:

As a descriptive case study, this research reports on the factors that are needed when opening a new high school.  The purpose of this study was to discover the processes, variables, and systems needed to open a new secondary school.  The researcher used emerging themes from the data to find the commonalities that lead to the effective opening of a new high school.  This descriptive case study was done through the lens of the activity director assigned to a new high school.  This research finds the most common themes that lead to effective practice when opening a new high school.
