(Position Duties)

On July 1, 2007, Michael Dulaney officially took the office of NCSA Executive Director.  He was offered the position by the NCSA Executive Board on April 4, 2007.  Mike, who previously served as NCSA Associate Executive Director, is only the fifth person to hold the office of Executive Director since the inception of the NCSA in 1970.  Past executive directors include Loren Brakenhoff, Bob Peterson, Fred Hoke, and Jerry Sellentin.

Mike has served as a staff member of the NCSA since 1991.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1987, majoring in political science and public administration, and earned a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Law in 1990.  He was appointed Associate Executive Director and chief lobbyist for the NCSA in 1993.

Mike received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Department of Educational Administration, Educational Leadership and Higher Education Program, in May 2007. Dissertation entitled, "The History of the Nebraska Tax Equity and Educational Opportunities Support Act," a comprehensive policy history and analysis of the current public school finance system in Nebraska from 1990 to 2005.

He received the Phi Delta Kappa, Outstanding Leadership in Education Award from the University of Nebraska-Omaha Chapter in 1989, and received the Nebraska Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) Friend of Education Award in 2005.  Most recently Mike received the Nebraska Association of Special Education Supervisors (NASES) Non-educator of the Year Award in 2007.

An avid spectator sports fan of NU Baseball and Football, a percussionist and drum instructor, history buff, and recreational culinary enthusiast.
