We are entering our 4th year of workshop presentations for Nebraska school districts. By December 2015, the number will be 163 workshops for 246 public school districts.

Educating educators about their pensions is the mantra for our Financial Advisory firm. In fact, many of our advisors have been educators. As a former educator myself, I understand the time constraints and demands of the job. I have walked in your shoes as a teacher and coach. I would not have had a clue about my own pension situation. It wasn’t on my radar because I was busy teaching English and coaching Basketball.

Therefore, the veteran educator (age 50+/5 or less years to retirement) is our target audience. The veteran educator is getting closer to retirement and is beginning to think: “OK, what am I going to do?” “I need to figure out this pension.”

Our workshops are educationally based with a comprehensive look at topics: pension, Social Security, taxes, investments, insurance, and the variables of your financial planning and decision making at retirement. But, ultimately, the pension consulting is our greatest asset for Nebraska educators. As advisors, we really want to help educators avoid a big mistake on their irrevocable decisions: pension(s) and Social Security.
