Nebraska's School Administrators Help Spell S-u-c-c-e-s-s for Students, Communities

As the 2008-2009 school year approaches, the Nebraska Council of School Administrators (NCSA) wants Nebraskans to know that school administrators are committed to providing leadership at school and in the community in an effort to promote the importance of education and lifelong learning.

NCSA will launch its new communications campaign at the Administrators' Days 2008 Conference in Kearney, July 30 - August 1. The campaign will feature announcements on Nebraska Radio Network throughout August to demonstrate how school administrators help schools remain safe, strong and competitive in an ever-changing world.

"Nebraska's school administrators remain on the cutting edge in terms of instructional leadership, curriculum, student assessment, and remain focused on school safety," said NCSA Executive Director Dr. Michael Dulaney. "We are fortunate to have so many experienced and talented administrators, helping to improve schools and student achievement, and to prepare young people for bright futures."

Nearly 99 percent of Nebraska's school administrators were once classroom teachers. The move to an administrative position provides successful teachers the opportunity to impact and benefit students on a larger scale and also provides a great sense of personal satisfaction.

"School administrators were some of our state's most talented teachers who wanted to use their abilities to affect positive change by becoming the voice of their school, both locally and at the state level," said Dr. Dulaney.
