Crete Public School is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Intermediate School Principal for the 2024-2025 school year. Purpose:
The Intermediate School Principal performs those tasks assigned by the superintendent and executive cabinet and leads the Crete Intermediate administrators and staff in order to provide students with a safe and rigorous learning environment.

Essential Functions:

Instructional Leadership
Leads the establishment of a vision, mission, and goals for Crete Intermediate School
Provides leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs
Provides instructional leadership to ensure student learning opportunities are maximized
Represents the school administrative team on school district committees as assigned
Coordinates student teachers and other university observers with the Director of Talent and Operations
Leads specific departments/programs assigned by the superintendent or their designee
Positively promotes the brand and branding of Crete Public Schools and Crete Intermediate School
Coordinates with the counselors, teachers, and staff to ensure personalized learning experiences are designed for all students

Staff
Leads the process of interviewing, evaluating, and selecting new staff
Determines staff assignments and organization of duties and responsibilities
Responds to specific staff’s questions, concerns, and needs to accomplish specific performance objectives
Observes and evaluates staff (certified and classified) as assigned and provide direction and support to accomplish growth targets
Leads the development of professional growth plans for staff and presents information to support professional growth as requested

Curriculum
Leads the supervision, evaluation, and development of Intermediate School instructional programs
Leads observing and meeting with teachers to ensure instructional programs are implemented with fidelity
Leads the monitoring of instructional programs to ensure district guidelines are followed
Leads the registration and master scheduling process
Serves on a variety of committees to meet educational goals as requested

Students
Keeps the safety, health, and well-being of students foremost throughout the performance of all duties
Supervises student activities before, during, and after school
Communicates with students, staff, and parents behavior expectations and ensures the enforcement of the same, following the district established due process procedures
Meets with students, parents, and staff to solve and address specific student behavior issues as necessary
Reports and/or investigates complaints and concerns regarding student safety in a timely manner
Maintains records of student behavior and discipline as necessary

Resource Management
Provides financial leadership by monitoring and expending funds and resources provided by the district and other entities according to district policies and procedures
Provides facility leadership by monitoring and reviewing facilities to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and the community

Community
Promotes Crete Intermediate School to local and surrounding communities, sharing Crete Intermediate School’s vast opportunities afforded to all students and families
Fosters and grows community relationships to maximize student learning opportunities

Other Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Education, including Nebraska Administrative Certification
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establish trust and rapport with students, parents, and staff

Interim Chief Administrator

Educational Service Unit 7 located in Columbus is filling a vacancy for the positon of Interim Chief Administrator.  The vacancy is due to the professional advancement of our current Chief Administrator.  Columbus is located approximately 65 miles northeast of Grand ISland, 45 miles south of Norfolk and 85 miles west of Omaha.  ESU 7 provides services to 19 school districts in seven counties including Boone, Butler, Colfax, Merrick, Nance, Platte, and Polk.  ESU 7 has a current Strategic Plan with identified priorities of Mentoring, Professional Development, Customized SErvices, and Data Stewardship.  

The position requires an Education Specialist with a Doctoral degree desired.  An additional preference would be for the candidate to have five years of administrative experience in a school district or educational service unit.

Junior High/High School Principal

Summerland Public School District is seeking a strong instructional leader for the position of Secondary Principal (grades 7-12) and Activities Director for the 2024-2025 school year. A valid Nebraska certificate with appropriate endorsement or the ability to obtain one is required for this position. Summerland Public School is a PK-12 district (competing in Class C-2 NSAA activities this year) with approximately 420 students (172 for grades 7-12). Summerland was recently scored as a “Great” elementary, “Excellent” middle school, and “Excellent” high school by the Nebraska Department of Education and AQuESTT.

Summerland is a newly formed school district of the villages of Clearwater, Ewing, and Orchard. The district opened a $34.4 million state-of-the-art facility on August 30, 2021. The building is centrally located between the three communities at the intersection of the Clearwater-Orchard Road and Summerland Road. Summerland is located approximately 50 miles west of Norfolk and 30 miles east of O’Neill.
The district is a 1:1 digital device school district: Students in grades 3-12 have access to Chromebooks and PK-2 students are 1:1 with iPads. The district employs a technology director from ESU 8 four days a week. Teachers are provided with a Chromebook, SmartBoards in every classroom, as well and ample instructional resources in the classroom. The new building boosts a unique CTE area and green room for media communications class, as well as new integrations into the traditional classroom.

Though the district is new, the district has a historic past of academic excellence and strong extra-curricular activities. Summerland has a strong administrative team and an exceptional staff that leads students through the district's vision statement: Engage, Educate, Empower Every Child, Every Day.
