The purpose of the NCSA Legislative Committee is to ensure the proper execution of the NCSA Legislative Program. The NCSA Legislative Committee consists of nineteen voting members and one non-voting member. The Executive Director or his/her designee serves as advisor to the NCSA Legislative Committee. The duties of the NCSA Legislative Committee are to:
- Analyze legislation under consideration in the Nebraska Legislature and measures that may appear on statewide election ballots;
- Take positions on specific bills, and resolutions and ballot measures as directed by the NCSA Legislative Committee;
- Advocate for passage or defeat of selected measures; and
- Inform members about NCSA positions on current legislation and on statewide ballot measures, and encourage local actions when needed.
